She is 75!

Our dear friend, Lizzia, turned 75 a few weeks ago! We were able to celebrate with her over a very nice meal this past Sunday. The Lee family has know the Kohlers since 1979 when the Lee family moved to St. Paul. They were neighbors for almost 2 decades and Lizzia and Betina are like family to us! Lizzia is so young for her age - full of energy, life, generosity, and kindness. The kids adore her. Cheers to her next 25 years!

Here we go!

Benedict has some of the funniest faces lately. This is kind of what I feel like these days with the baby coming at the very least, in the next couple weeks and - actually, this little baby could come any day now. "Brace yourself! Ready or not!" But, actually, I can't complain with how I feel. I am getting more and more excited each day to meet this new little person. And yes, I am a bit crazy, I am even excited for the labor and delivery. Mike and I plan on having a little vacation at the hospital. ;)

The kids are also in anticipation mode. Faustina and Jude play "Mom and Dad' while they take care of their baby 'Anna'. A friend let us borrow her very cute bassinet that we'll have next to our bed for the first couple months, at least. Between the bassinet and the one seat we have to put the baby in, we feel ready! We will use about 10% of the 'baby gear' since....well, these early stages go so fast, and it all takes up so much room! It is fun to see how the kids' dynamic works out and how they play with each other (and fight too!) and take care of each other.

Easter 2013

It felt good to celebrate Easter yesterday. We stayed pretty low key throughout the Holy Triduum. Mike and I took turns going over to St. Agnes without the kids (or at least the boys) so that we were able to take in mass, adoration, and the Stations of the Cross. Holy Saturday we had a brunch with our family friends in North St. Paul and colored easter eggs. On Saturday, we spent the evening with family at Grandpa's and had a fun time with cousins. Sunday morning we went to an earlier mass and then met friends at a restaurant which was very tasty and I think I especially appreciated the less clean up and meal prep! After lunch, Uncle Travis joined us back home with Joseph and we hung out and chatted for a couple hours. It was all very relaxing and enjoyable. I only really got pictures of the kids finding their Easter baskets - I haven't been taking pictures as much lately. I guess life gets busy. I sewed up these little baskets this past week and then on Good Friday, Mike and I got some things for the kids before we headed over to Planned Parenthood for the prayer vigil. We are now looking forward to Divine Mercy Sunday coming up this next weekend. We are hoping to make a trek out to La Cross like we did last year. And hopefully the weather warms up a bit.

You can tell which Easter basket item Jude had the most fun with.
